The County Council recognised the importance of the railways to bring jobs and prosperity back to the former Nottinghamshire coalfield areas when we opened the Nottingham to Worksop ‘Robin Hood Line’ in 1993.
Since then the Council has worked with local MPs, the rail industry and the Government to encourage more investment in the East Coast and Midland Mainline rail routes.
The Council has also worked in partnership with a range of local organisations to improve the railway stations at Newark, Mansfield and Worksop by revamping the station buildings and providing secure car parking.
You can find out more about rail services and timetables by calling the national rail enquiry line on 0345 484950.
A series of guided walks from the railways stations in Nottinghamshire is also available.
