Vehicle statistics are gathered from urban and rural areas across the county.
The County Council collects information about the number of vehicles using the county's roads. We use the data to make decisions about long term road improvements, and to help us monitor the levels of traffic on our roads.
Some of the types of data that we collect include:
- traffic flows
- traffic speeds
- cycle counts.
Records of all injury accidents reported to Nottinghamshire Police are checked and stored by the County Council. These records are then used to review the background to road accidents to improve road safety through education and engineering measures.
