School travel plans

School travel plans involve the school, local people and the local authority working together to look at ways to improve safety around the school vicinity and to reduce car use.

They can help:

  • reduce traffic in and around the school
  • improve safety and reduce pollution
  • help children get fit
  • help children learn how to cross roads safely.
