School security

We all expect our children to be able to learn in a safe and caring environment.

To make sure school children are kept safe during the school day, each school has its own security policy.

This will make sure only designated carers and parents can collect each child and that classroom doors are kept locked during lesson time. Entrances to playgrounds for very young children will also be locked to make sure no child can walk off the school site.

Security fencing has been installed at a number of schools in the county due to persistent vandalism, rising insurance premiums and dog fouling in school grounds.

Please talk to your child’s school about the steps they have taken to keep your child safe.
