School performance and standards

Schools are assessed to make sure they are helping every child achieve their full potential. Ofsted – the Office for Standards in Education - carry out the inspections and write up their findings in a report about your child’s school.

If you’re not sure which school you’d like your child to attend, it’s a good idea to visit each school and talk to the head teacher about how the school has responded to its Ofsted inspection and what areas its action plan covers.

You can get a copy of any Ofsted inspection report from the Ofsted website or from the school.
