School governors

School governors work with the headteacher to monitor their school’s performance and to set new targets for pupils achievement at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3.

Governors are usually appointed for four years and are expected to attend at least one meeting each term.

Comprehensive training courses are provided by the County Council to help people understand the important role governors fulfil.
