Rubbish

Wheelie bin collections

District councils collect the rubbish and recycling bins from your home.

Please try to recycle as much of your rubbish as you can. Recycling helps to improve the environment by cutting down on the need to bury rubbish in landfill sites.

If you have a lot of household rubbish or some bulky items like an old carpet and sofa, fridge or tv, you can get rid of these and similar items at any of the County Council’s 14 recycling centres (rubbish tips). You can also arrange for your local district council to collect your rubbish from your home. There may be a charge for this service.

Business/Commercial waste

If you own a business you will need to pay for your rubbish to be collected. A number of organisations provide this service including your local district council.

Litter

If litter is a problem in your area, please contact your local district council.
