Road markings

Roads are clearly marked for safety reasons to make sure people know where there are junctions and bends.

Road markings are also used to enforce car parking, waiting and loading restrictions to make sure traffic can keep flowing in busy town centres.

If people regularly ignore road markings they can be fined with a fixed penalty notice.
