Residents' parking schemes

Residents' parking schemes provide reserved spaces for residents and visitor permit holders to help them park. Residents with a car, a small van or a motorcycle usually qualify, and so do any businesses based in a controlled zone.

Most schemes operate during the working day from Monday to Saturday.

Outside these hours and on Christmas Day, Good Friday and all Bank Holidays parking is uncontrolled except on double yellow lines.
