Register offices

You must contact your local register office to:

  • register a birth, still-birth or death
  • give notice of your intention to marry or form a civil partnership
  • obtain replacement certificates.

You will also need to contact your local register office to arrange:

  • a naming ceremony
  • a reaffirmation of vows ceremony
  • a civil funeral.

Ceremonies can be held in either a register office or at venues approved by the County Council.

All our register offices operate an appointment system for most services, except copy certificates, and may have different opening hours.
