There are over 100 pedestrian and cycle crossings in the county, designed to make it safer and easier for cyclists and pedestrians to cross the road.
There are several different types of crossing:
- Zebra crossings where you wait at the side of the road until vehicles top
- Pelican crossings where you press a button and the traffic is stopped for you
- Toucan crossings which are designed along similar lines to pelican crossings but allow cyclists and pedestrians to cross together safely
Special equestrian crossings have also been built for horseriders where bridleways cross busy A roads.
If you spot a faulty light on a pedestrian crossing, please contact us and we will arrange for it to be repaired within 24 hours.
