The Highways Agency is responsible for managing, maintaining and improving England’s motorways and some A roads in Nottinghamshire on behalf of the Government. The Highways Agency is responsible for the A1, A52 and A46 through the county.
The County Council is responsible for all the other roads in Nottinghamshire including the A614, A57, A60 main roads and residential streets.
The County Council bids for Government money in the annual Local Transport Plan – the blueprint for travel and transport in Nottinghamshire.
