Libraries

Our network of 60 libraries and three mobile libraries don’t just do books. They provide a whole lot more.

You can:

  • find a fantastic range of books, film and music for all tastes with our cd and dvd hire service
  • catch up on the latest national and international news in newspapers and weekly magazines
  • search and surf the web (subject to availability)
  • research local history
  • Find out about community, sporting and voluntary groups
  • use the photocopying and fax machines
  • relax in an easy chair and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee
  • take part in events like the Rhyme, Rattle and Roll toddler sessions
  • listen to lectures and talks on books and a whole variety of other topics
  • find the latest bus and train times and search for other information about council services, social security benefits and trading standards.

And the best bit is all this is free!

Please note: some services may not be available in every library.
