Household waste and recycling centres

Don’t let your rubbish go to waste – recycle it!

Households in Nottinghamshire throw away over 500,000 tonnes of rubbish every year and with space running out in landfill sites, there's never been a better time to recycle and reuse your rubbish.

To make recycling easier, Nottinghamshire has 14 Household Waste Recycling Centres (rubbish tips) where householders can recycle:

  • glass
  • paper and cardboard
  • plastic bottles
  • textiles
  • cans
  • engine oil
  • batteries.

Concrete and bricks are restricted to one car load. Asbestos and car tyres require special disposal and cannot be taken to any household waste and recycling centre.

If you have a tall vehicle please be aware that our centres have 6’ height barriers. This is to prevent businesses using large vans to illegally unload trade waste. Please ask for help if you need the barriers to be opened.
