Is your child unable to go to school because he or she is unwell?
Is your child likely to be away from school for more than 15 school days?
If you have answered yes to these questions, it is important to make sure your child does not miss out on their education. The County Council has a duty to provide education to children who are unable to attend school because they are:
- physically sick
- pregnant
- school age mothers
- referred for anxiety related reasons and are temporarily unable to attend their school.
The main role of the home tutor is to provide a relevant and appropriate differentiated curriculum consistent with the National Curriculum as advised by the pupil’s school. This will help in ensuring continuity and supporting a successful return to school.
