Harassment, discrimination and bullying are all types of abuse. Over time they can cause trauma and stress for the individual involved.
Harassment can be:
- mildly unpleasant remarks
- physical violence
- of a sexual nature
- linked to skin colour, race, or cultural background.
Discrimination is when people are treated differently (e.g. less favourably) because of culture, gender, race or disability.
If you experience harassment or you are concerned about someone who you think might be the focus of harassment you can:
- contact Social Services
- contact the police.
If your child is being bullied, please talk to the headteacher, your local education office or contact us.
