Prepacked food must be labelled to help consumers clearly identify the ingredients used in its manufacture.
By law the label must state a number of points including:
- the name of the food
- the date code
- list of ingredients
- origin of the food.
If you are a consumer and have a question about labelling contact Citizens Advice Consumer Service.
If you are a trader requiring advice, please contact Trading Standards.
