Fly-tipping

It is illegal to dump your rubbish. You can be prosecuted and face a fine of up to £50,000. You can dispose of your household rubbish at any of the County Council's 18 recycling centres.

If you arrange for a firm to collect and dispose of your rubbish check that they are a reputable and properly licensed waste disposal company. If any rubbish is illegally dumped on your behalf and it can be traced back to you, you will be prosecuted. You will also pay for the cost of clearing it up.

Your local district/borough council are responsible for investigating fly-tipping, so if you spot fly-tipping in your area, report it to your local district/borough council.
