Fireworks

Trading Standards is responsible for making sure all explosives, including fireworks, are stored safely. A trader must be registered to sell fireworks and it’s an offence to sell them to under-18s.

In most premises fireworks can only be sold at specific times of the year including: the three weeks up to November 5th and a shorter period around New Year, Chinese New Year and Diwali.

The Direct Gov website has advice on the laws regarding the use of fireworks and how to stay safe around fireworks displays.

If you are a trader and you want some information regarding the sale and storage of explosives, please contact Trading Standards.
