Environmental emergencies
The County Council has a duty to plan for major emergencies. We will help the local community cope with an emergency, such as flooding, terrorist attack etc. Help can include organising a rest centre to provide shelter for people who have to leave their home, providing meals and supporting the work of the emergency services.
Social Care emergencies
If you suspect a child or a vulnerable adult is being abused, or if someone is having a mental health crisis, or your home care worker has not arrived and you need help to get into bed, you can contact the emergency duty team.
Health emergencies
If it is obvious you or someone else needs emergency treatment, dial 999 free from any public or private telephone, and ask for the ambulance service.
