In Nottinghamshire we’ve got one of the biggest off road cycle networks in the UK with miles and miles of cycle route through beautiful countryside. We’ve worked with local cycling organisations and Network Rail to transform former railway lines and colliery workings into country parks with walks, cycle routes and wildlife habitats.
Parts of the National Cycle network take you through the grounds of some of our best loved tourist attractions including the National Trust’s Clumber Park estate, former home of the Dukes of Newcastle, near Worksop.
If you’re looking for a gentle introduction to the saddle, gear up for one of our Rural Rides guided cycle rides. The free events cater for all abilities and are a great way to see more by bike.
We’ve picked out the quietest routes between our county’s main town centres – like Newark, Worksop and Arnold – in our Cycling in Nottinghamshire map
Cyclists can explore Nottinghamshire off-road on bridleways byways and restricted byways.
