Car parking permits

In some streets or neighbourhoods, parking is organised to help the people who live there park their vehicles, with spaces reserved for residents and visitor permit holders. Residentswith a car, a small van or a motorcycle usually qualify, and so do any businesses based in a controlled zone.

Most schemes operate during the working day from Monday to Saturday.

Outside these hours and on Christmas Day, Good Friday and all Bank Holidays parking is uncontrolled except on double yellow lines.
