Batteries

Batteries come in all shapes and sizes, for all sorts of different uses from your radio, car and power tools.

To help reduce the number of batteries which are thrown away:

  • try to buy rechargeable batteries
  • use the mains power wherever possible
  • recycle your car battery at one of our household waste recycling centres.
  • use the recycling batteries website at: www.rebat.com. Rebat is managed by the British Battery Manufacturers Association to encourage collection of nickel cadmium batteries in the UK, as required under European legislation.
