Abnormal loads

If you plan to transport an abnormal load through Nottinghamshire – a lorry carrying an extra long or wide load – you must contact Nottinghamshire County Council.

The County Council will work with you to help plan the most suitable route for your vehicle and its load.

The County Council will:

  • Check the height of any bridges and other known pinch-points along the route
  • Advise on the best routes for the load
  • Recommend how to minimise delays for other vehicles
